Carroll Design supported the mechanical engineering and industrial design elements of the development of the A123 Systems Hybrid Ancillary Power Unit (Hybrid-APU(TM)).  Using A123 System's patented Nanophosphate(TM) technology in a core battery module used in other large scale battery systems, Carroll Design provided the mechanical design of the battery trays, battery management trays, and the overall design of the 53' custom shipping container for the grid stabilization solution for power plants.  This was a unique design and engineering challenge from the battery trays up to the overall container mechanical details.
